Adv. Israel Irazirikana is a seasoned legal practitioner with over 15 years of experience in business law, corporate transactions, and regulatory advisory. He currently serves as Managing Partner at Amilex Chambers. He joined the firm in 2017 as a Senior Associate, he rose to Partner in 2021 and assumed leadership as Managing Partner in 2023.
He is an active member of the Rwanda Bar Association (RBA) and the East Africa Law Society (EALS). His academic credentials include a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and a Master of Laws (LLM) in Business Law from the University of Rwanda, a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice (DLP) from the Institute of Legal Practice, and a Master’s in Procurement and Supply Chain Management (MPSCM) from Mount Kenya University.
Prior to joining Amilex Chambers, Adv. Irazirikana held key legal advisory roles in both public and private institutions. At the Rwanda Revenue Authority, he contributed to the development of tax legislation and managed complex taxpayer disputes. He later served as Legal Advisor at Horizon Sopyrwa Ltd, where he oversaw national and international contracting, advised on logistics and supply chain legal matters, and supported strategic procurement operations. He subsequently joined the National Bank of Rwanda as Contract Manager, where he was responsible for drafting and reviewing high-value contracts and served on the Bank’s Contract Management Committee.
Adv. Irazirikana is widely recognized for his expertise in corporate law, contract negotiation, labour law, and supply chain legal advisory. His practice includes drafting commercial agreements, resolving disputes, advising on human capital policies, and handling real estate transactions. He has represented a broad spectrum of clients — including corporations, government entities, and NGOs — before courts of law, arbitration panels, and negotiation forums.
He is fluent in English, French, and Kinyarwanda, with working proficiency in Kiswahili, and brings a multilingual, cross-sectoral approach to legal problem-solving and client representation.
